David Ryan

David Ryan is an FGS Longview Partner based in Toronto. Over the past 25 years, David has provided corporate and financial communications counsel on range of complex mandates, including acute reputational challenges, operational crises, litigation, hostile and friendly takeovers, shareholder activism, restructurings and insolvency proceedings, and management changes. He has advised on some of Canada’s largest and most high-profile transactions and special situations.

Prior to joining FGS Longview, David led the financial and capital markets communications practice across Asia Pacific and Canada for one of the world’s largest integrated communications firms. 

In all, he has acquired broad-based industry experience that includes transportation, mining, natural resources, telecom, consumer packaged goods, sports and entertainment, real estate, health care, construction, power generation and distribution, and biotechnology. 

David began his career as a general reporter and producer in radio and television news. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of British Columbia, a Communications Diploma (Broadcast Journalism) from the British Columbia Institute of Technology, where he received the Legislative Press Gallery Award for Excellence in Journalism, and has completed the Canadian Securities Course, with honours.
